Malaria continues to be a widespread disease in the world, which is an important public health problem in the most developing countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America. According to WHO estimates, the number of new cases worldwide annually reached 100 million. In general, over the past 10 years, the world situation has changed slightly, but its deterioration are observed in many parts of Asia, Africa and Latin America. The main causes of the malaria situation in the country are: late detection of patients and parasite, poor sanitary condition and improper use of hydraulic, promoting the growth of the number of carrier, untimely and poor conducted anti-malaria activities, as well as the situation on climate changes that have occurred not only in our country, but also worldwide.

The analytical paper describes the main veterinary bioecologic particularities of Culicoides, «pathogen - vector» system, insect immunity, genesis of transmissible infection, infectious cycle, pathogenesis, vectorial transmission and mechanisms of over-wintering bluetongue in context of disease emergency in Europe. The Palearctic Culicoides sp are presented as principal vector of infection in Northwest Europe.

Migration activity of brown rats in Moscow
S. A. Kvashnin, Ph.D., e-mail – kvashnin50@mail.ru
The process of colonization of large food factories by brown rats has been studied the whole year round and during 15 years. Initially the studied objects have been depopulated from resident rats. The appearance of immigrants was registered by different methods with catches by steel traps as the main one. It was shown that immigration took place during all season but with different intensity, being low from January to June and significant during autumn months. All immigrants were mature adults and subadults. Sex ration was 1,2 to 1,0 (males to females). About a quarter of immigrants females were pregnant. It is supposed that a long-term dynamics of number of brown rats in Moscow has recurring character.

The probability of objects occupation by rodents (estimating in on-line dialogue mode)
Rylnikov V. A., Ph. D, Bogacheva A. V., Hamaletdinova E. A., Nonstate private scientific and educational institution «Institute of Pest Management», private box 36, Moscow, 117342
Overview of the new on-line resource dedicated to the pest-risk evaluation as the measure to objects protection from problematic species by the example of rodents appearance is shown. The possibility of attracting additional Internet resource – «Moscow Rat map» with real distribution of Brown rats in Moscow, obtained by population interview. The danger degree for controlled object can be estimated taking into account the population of rats in adjacent objects.

Comparative acaricidal activity avermectins rabbit ear itch mite Psoroptes cuniculi Delafond, 1859 in vitro is studied.Comparison of mites survival under the acaricide treatment was carried out using the method of the statistical analysis of Kaplan-Meier survival. LT50 and LT95 for different concentrations of active substances are found. They can be used for the acaricides development and for comparison sensitivity of P. cuniculi from different populations to these biocides.
