INFECTIOUS AND PARASITIC DISEASES

Ecological- epidemiological characteristic of leptospirosis in the South of Ukraine

Nakonechny I.V., Doctor of Biology, V.A.Sukhomlinsky’ Nikolaev National University. Ul.Nikolskaya, 24, Nikolaev, 54030, Ukraine

Analytical generalizations about long-term data of Leptospirosis in the southwestern Prichernomorje indicate persistent high role and importance of polyhostal natural and synanthropic sources of infectious organisms under general saprozoonozic nature of disease manifestation. Strains of Icterohaemorrhagiae serogroup are the most significant in both ecotypes : about 77.3% of all leptospirosis cases. Anthropurgic foci of mixed and farmer types are supported only by the local circulation circles of species-specific strains of tarassovi, pomona, sejroe and hebdomadis serogroups, which haven’t play any significance epidemic role. The key indicators of the epidemic situation (summer seasonality, the absence of disease outbreaks, sporadicity, "floating" long-term disease dynamics, lack of professional dependence) are also typical for saprozoonozic feral nidal infections, that defines the main prophylaxis directions.

Keywords: feral nidal infections, saprozoonosis, leptospirosis, the epidemic situation, the southwestern Prichernomorje.

In the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug optimal conditions for ticks and their hosts existence have arisen. So, among human KhMAO-YuGRA population tick-borne encephalitis has become on dominant position in the structure of feral nidal diseases by the severity of clinical course and outcome. The epidemiological and clinical characteristics of this disease for some territories of this Okrug are presented in the article. The main principles of territory endemicity estimation in relation to feral nidal infections and contagion risk are described.

Keywords: ticks, the activity of natural foci, tickborne encephalitis, registration of cases, the clinical course, the dynamics and structure of the tick-borne encephalitis incidence, estimation of infecting risk.

The importance of microorganisms in the development of the epidemic process and the role of disinfection measures for elimination of epidemic foci

Shaposhnikov A.A., Tedejeva L.U., Yuschenko G.V., Kozlova I.I. Russian medical academy of the advanced studies, Health Ministry of Russian Federation ROSPOTREBNADZOR Department of the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania, Khanty-Mansiysk «Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology» in KhMAO - YuGRA”

The maim features of the bacteria and viruses that determine their existence and significance in epidemic process are described. Readers are paid attention to significance of different dizinfectological technologies for the prevention and control of infectious diseases, peculiarities of different contamination technologies. Standard requirements for optimal disinfectants for LPO, and also the scale of comparative stability of different groups of pathogenic microorganisms to disinfectants are shown.

Keywords: epidemic process, features of bacteria and viruses that determine their existence, dizinfektological technologies, the resistance of pathogenic microorganisms to disinfectants.

BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION

Rats – the inhabitants of buildings and wildlife. Problems of control and conservation

Shilova S.A. doctor of biology, professor, Shekarova O.N. Cand. Sc. (Biol.), A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution, 33 Leninskij prosp., Moscow, 119071

A review of the rodents called «the rats» is presented in this paper. In the world according to different systematic reviews there are from 480 to over 650 rodents species of 9-13 families. Outwardly, these rodents are like a brown rat. About 100 species are classified as pests and modern methods of integrated pest control are used to reduce their numbers. The other species inhabit natural biotopes, and many of them are the key species in biocenosis. According to the regional estimations up to 30% of «rat» species are under threat and their conservation status is from Vulnerable to Critically Endangered. Measures for these species conservation are developing and carrying out.

Keywords: rats, pests, control, conservation status, conservation.

THE PROBLEMS OF APPLIED ZOOLOGY

The authors share their own experience in the organization and execution of deratization measures during the liquidation of sanitary and epidemiological consequences of the military conflict in the Republic of South Ossetia. The specificity of these measures was that deratization team had to work in extremely difficult conditions, because as a result of bombing and artillery bombardment the Tskhinval private sector was practically destroyed. Further emergency deratization was transferred to the planned measures with clear planning, rational distribution force and facilities of disinfection groups. Submitted algorithm of total deratization , as a part of anti-epidemic measures under humanitarian crises condition, can be used for a work of other Medical Service units, solving the similar problems.

Keywords: emergency, military conflict, antiepidemic measures, deratization.

FORMULATIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES

Screening for new agents against adult and larval flies, Musca domestica

Jamov V. Z. Academic of science, Domackij V. N. Doctor of biology science, Silivanova E. A. PhD in Biology, Levchenko M. A., PhD in Veterinary science

Toxicity of three insecticide substances (hlorfenapir, matrine and bensultap) was defined against adult and larval flies Musca domestica. Hlorfenapir had the greatest imagocide activity LD50 25 mg/g body weight of insects. Hlorfenapir and bensultap were similar in their larvicide effectiveness.

Keywords: hlorfenapir, matrine, bensultap, Musca domestica, imago, larva, insecticide effectiveness

New insectoacaricides «Diptron e.c.» and «Avalon e.c.»

Eremina O. Yu, Cand. Sc. (Biol.), Lopatina Yu.V., Cand. Sc. (Biol.), Kostina M.N., Doctor of Biology, Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute by Rospotrebnadzor, Nauchny pr.,18, Moscow, 117246

Insectoacaricide activity and effective drug duration of two emulsion concentrates «Diptron e.c.» («Quimica de Munguia», Spain) and «Avalon c.e.» («Kukbo Science Co. Ltd.», Korea) for some synanthropic arthropod species has been studied. The high insecticide activity of Temephos and Ethophenprox against mosquito larvae has been revealed.

New different types of rodenticides in the form of grain baits, based on 2nd generation anticoagulants with wide field of use (flocoumafen and difethialone) are offered. High attractiveness of these rodenticides for rodents provides quick death of animals after bait eating. Toxicological characteristics and recommendation for their use are presented.
