The bacteria and the polysaccharide compounds in dust in Moscow dwellings

Akchapkina I.G., Cand Sci.(Biol) Federal government budgetary establishment Mechnikov Research Institute for Vaccines and Sera RAMS, 105064, Moscow, Malyy Kazennyy per., 5a

A significant part of bacterial flora becomes an element of house dust at ingress indoors. Therefore dust is the most convenient object to reveal the probable correlation between total bacterial contamination and concentration of the polysaccharides, being capable to induct ambiguous immune answer of macroorganism. As a result of the carried out research it was shown, that the contents of the polysaccharides in dust samples ranged from 0,3 up to 96 mcg/g of dust, and the increase of the polysaccharides quantity of in home dust is associated with increasing of frequency of Gram-negative rodshaped bacteria occurrence in the samples. However of direct correlation between the contents of the polysaccharides and total bacterial contamination of dust wasn’t found.. Bacterial content in the house dust is quite different and ranged from 2х103 up to 1х109 MPNC/g (the most probable number of the microbe cells) of the dust.

Keywords: polysaccharides, bacteria, environment, home dust, hypersensitivity.

Moles – friends or enemies?

Moles belong to the order Insectivora and the family Talpidae. The fauna of Talpidae in the Russian Federation is represented by two genera: g. Talpa and g. Mogera. In Russia the first one (g. Talpa) is represented by four species: T. europaea; T.altaica, T. caucasica and T. levantis; and the second one (g. Mogera) includes two species: M. robusta and M. wogura. All of them are underground inhabitants. Moles eat the only animal food – mainly insects and other invertebrates and don’t eat any vegetable food. The damage caused by moles is related the only to their burrowing activity. Due to consequences of these activity moles are often confused with some other species: water vole Arvicola terrestris , mole rats g Spalax, mole voles – g. Ellobius, zokors g. Myospalax. Moles pest control includes as preventive measures, protecting the territory from immigrative animals (e.g acoustic and olfactory repugnatorial methods), and extermination, including as direct killing and livetrapping the animals with their following removing. At present time some attempts to use chemicals for moles extermination have .been done. However none of these poisoned baits is registered in the territory of Customs Union up today because of their low efficiency. Gassing provides only short-term effect and it’s economically non-value-added method.

THE PROBLEMS OF APPLIED ENTOMOLOGY

Experience of dwellings disinfection for bed bugs extermination

Gryazev A.M., Rusinova T.V., Scherbakova O.A. FSHI «Chelyabinsk municipal disinfection station, Chelyabinsk», ul. Rossiyskaya- 10B, Chelyabinsk 454002

The possible causes of bedbugs appearance and dispersion in dwellings are described in this article. The authors estimated the effectiveness of the insecticides based on organophosphorus compounds and pyrethroids. Insecticides with the most persistent smell have been determined.

Keywords: bedbugs, bedbug disinsection, insecticides, insecticides based on organophosphorus compounds, insecticides based on pyrethroids, sanitary and hygienic state, abundance.

FORMULATIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES

A comparison of the effects of three volatile insecticidal pyrethroids (empenthrin, transfluthrin and metofluthrin) to house flies Musca domestica L.(sensitive race Cooper) under contact and fumigation ways of the influence have been done. Transfluthrin is shown to be more effective than empenthrin and metofluthrin under contact and fumigation action. Metofluthrin is noted to cause unstable paralysis of insects, reflected in the high reversibility of the insecticide.

Keywords: transfluthrin , empenthrin , metofluthrin, house flies, contact and fumigation action.

Lambda zone M.C. – highly active microencapsulated insectoacaricide of broad-spectrum action

Eremina O.Yu, Doctor of Biology, Lopatina Yu.V., Cand. Sci. (Biol.), Kostina M.N. Doctor of Biology, Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute by Rospotrebnadzor, Nauchny pr.,18, Moscow, 117246

The literature data, concerning the effectiveness of lambda-cyhalothrin in relation to different groups of synanthropic arthropods, are generalized. The high insecticidal activity and long-term effective duration of microencapsulated drug «Lambda Zone M.C.»(«Kukbo Science Co.,Ltd.», Korea) to synanthropic species of arthropods has been experimentally established.

Keywords: lambda-cyhalothrin, a suspension of microcapsules, insectoacaricide activity.

New effective gel on the basis of the binary mixture of insecticides against insects

Kostina M.N., Doctor of Biology, Rysina T.Z., Cand Sci. (Biol.) Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute by Pospotrebnadzor, Nauchny pr., 18, Moscow, 117245

Alesho N.A. Cand. Sc. (Biol.), Disinfectological business and Medical entomology Department RMAPE, Public Health Ministry RF., ul. Belomoskaya, 19/38, Moscow

A new insecticide of original composition in the form of gel, containing a binary mixture of compounds with different mechanisms of action: the neonicotinoid acetamiprid (0.1%) and hydramethylnon (1.5%) from the amidohydrazone group is developed. Aforesaid drug provided 85- 100% lethality of cockroaches in 2-3 days under different application rates (30-50 mg/substrate), and it has a long residual effect for more than 2 months. It’s also effective against different species of garden ants and flies by applying it on their landing sites (frames, windows, glasses, lampshades etc.).

Keywords: gel, intestinal-contact type, binary mixture, acetamiprid, neonicotinoids, hydramethylnon, amidohydrazone, high insecticide effect.

In the middle of the last century the problem of bed bugs believed to be a destiny of underdeveloped and developing countries. However, it was found that the increasing of the bed bugs number from the mid 90's of XX century is the global trend, and at present time the developed countries is largely populated by these insects.
