The analysis of parasitic systems of revealed natural foci of the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, tick-borne borrelioses and Q fever, tick-borne viral encephalitis and monocytic human ehrlichiosis, having territorially coinciding areas, indicates that they involve the same main vectors species of, as well as reservoir hosts of disease causative agents. It is shown that on the territory of the Rostov region and Shchepkinsky Forest there are natural foci with parasitic systems united by populations of mammals – reservoir hosts of disease agents. Having described foci can be characterized as two-host populationcombined natural foci of the above mentioned natural focal infections. Mixed-infection of ticks and birds by tick-borne viral encephalitis and monocytic human ehrlichiosis causative agents as well as mixedinfection of small mammals by causative agents of Q fever and tick-borne borreliosis has been determined.

Key words: combined foci, mixed-infection, tickborne infections, Rostov region

FORMULATIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES

New larvicide against flies on the methoprene basis

Kostina M.N., Doctor of Biology, Bidevkiva M.V., PhD (Med.) Shushkov M.Yu. Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute of Pospotrebnadzor, Nauchny pr., 18, Moscow, 117246

Compounds of the insect growth regulator group (IGR), comprising juvenile hormone analogs (AJG) and chitin synthesis inhibitors (ChSI), are widely used all over the world, including as flies and mosquitoes larvicides. The relatively low level of their danger to the environmental objects, high efficiency in minimal concentrations, long-term effects, delayed from the treatment, the residual effect that helps to reduce the number of treatments and their expenses, all these advantages are the cause of their widespread distribution in the world and high demand by the services involved in professional treatments. «LodiLarvi GR» from this larvicide group provides no emergence of fly imagoes from the treated substrate under granules application rate 25 g per 1m2 of treated surface. It is a low-toxic agent for warm-blooded animals under different ways of its penetration into the organism. To use such environmentally low-hazard larvicide can be recommended for the treatment of unsanitary environment around children, food, medical institutions, as well as near the places of recreation for children – camps, sanatoria.

Benzil benzoate in medical disinsection

Lopatina Yu.V., PhD, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Department of Entomology, Biological Faculty, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Leninskie Gory, 1/12 Moscow 119234, Russia, ylopatina@mail.ru Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute, Moscow, Russia Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute of Pospotrebnadzor, Nauchny pr., 18, Moscow, 117246

The literature data on using benzyl benzoate for control of arthropods of medical importance and results of our investigations of its pediculicidal activity are summarized. Benzyl benzoate has high efficacy to scabies mites, house dust mites, and human lice. Preparations and drugs containing of benzyl benzoate, registered for control of house dust mites, treatment of scabies and head lice in Russia are presented.

Key words: benzyl benzoate, scabies, pediculosis capitis, house dust mite control
