The results of sanitary and parasitological researches play an essential role in assessing the activity of the epidemic process in parasitic diseases as they allow to determine the state of one of the key elements of the parasitic subsystem of these diseases – the mechanism of transmission of the contagious beginning. Implementation of the epidemic process in parasitic diseases is facilitated by epidemiologically significant objects of the habitat of the population. In the system of sanitary and parasitological monitoring, a special role is assigned to determining the quality of sewage and its precipitation by parasitological indicators, in connection with their epidemiological significance and the impact on possible contamination of surface water objects by pathogens when dumping drains. The World Health Organization associates a third of the recorded human diseases with the influence of the water factor. Practically all surface water objects are exposed to anthropogenic and technogenic influence with various degree of expression. In this regard, monitoring the quality of water having essential impact on the infectious and parasitic incidence is one of the priority tasks in activity of Rospotrebnadzor. One of actual tasks is the indication of substrate contamination with eggs of helminths and cysts of  pathogenic intestinal protozoa [3].

It is found that the natural focus of Q fever in Rostov region is of a steppe type, the maintenance of natural and secondary (agricultural) foci is provided mainly due to Dermacentor marrinatus, Hyalomma marginatum, Ixodes ricinus. The paper gives a list of potential carriers of Coxiella burnetii in the fauna of Rostov region that includes more than 30 species of mammals. The paper stresses the contribution of birds as donors for carriers of Coxiella burnetii and their participation in the irradiation of the causative agent with parasitic ticks on them over long distances. The paper gives the results of the immunology and serology tests of farm livestock. The analysis of Q fever incidence is given; the immune individuals in the rural and urban areas of Rostov region are identified in the absence of Q fever immunoprophylaxis, which indicates the circulation of the causative agent among the population and the presence of secondary (agricultural) foci.

Astrakhan rickettsial fever (ARL) is an acute transmissible natural focal infectious disease, registered in the territory of the Astrakhan region and a number of regions of the Russian Federation, transmitted through the bite of the tick of P.pumilio. Every year, the territorial bodies of Rospotrebnadzor carry out monitoring of vectorborne diseases, including ARL. Over the past several years, the distribution of the P.Pumilio vector from wild animals to domestic has been noted, which contributes to the expansion of the carrier's range and supports the high incidence of ARL in the Astrakhan region (AO). Currently, hyperendemic areas are being allocated – the historically hyperendemic Krasnoyarsk region, the city of Astrakhan, in recent years – the Kharabalinsky district; with an average level – Privolzhsky and Narimanovsky areas; with a low level – all other administrative-territorial formations of the region. In addition, there is a marked increase in clinical symptoms, and deaths are fixed. All this dictates the need to improve the surveillance of the ARL.

The article discusses the analysis of appearance probability assessment of a Brown rat (Rattus norvegicus Berk.) at food enterprises in the city of Kostroma. The results of the assessment of the sanitary-technical state of the investigated objects, the estimation of the pest-hazard are shown. The dependence of the frequency of detection of a Brown rat on the capacity of their habitat was demonstrated.
