S.A. Roslavtseva, Doctor of Biology, professor, head of disinsection and deratization department, FSI Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute by Russian Consumer Inspection, Moscow, Disinfectology subdepartment of I.M.Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy,

Alekseev M.A. Cand. Sc. (Biol.), scientific researcher, FSI Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute by Russian Consumer Inspection, Moscow;

Didenko L.N. Cand. Sc. (Agr.), senior scientific researcher, Odessa National University, Odessa (Ukraine)

Karakurt spider (g. Latrodectus) is a potential object of medical disinsection. Short data, concerning some species of this genus and more detail information about karakurt spider L. tredecimguttatus (Rossi) are given in this article. Biology, geographical distribution, preferable habitats and wide expansion of this species in Ukraine are considered. Symptoms of poisoning by karakurt’s venom and the method of injured persons treatments are described too.

THE PROBLEM OF APPLIED ZOOLOGY

Catastrophic consequences of deratization with use of bromadialone in Mongolia in 2001-2003

Karyakin I.V., the head of field projects , Fond of Nizhny Novgorod Department of SOPR, ikar_research@mail.ru

Mongolian Agricultural ministry used anticoagulant of 2nd generation bromadiolone for Brandt’s vole (Microtus [Lasiopodomys] brandtii Radde, 1861) density control in 2001-2003. Treatment was done on the territory over 1 mln. ha. As a result of that deratisation the Brandt’s vole numbers have locally decreased in some places. But at the same time a lot of other animals, including rare species, died on the wide Mongolian territory. As a result of deratization actions a lot of birds were victims in the borderland with Mongolia Russian territories, the birds died also during migration in the territory of Mongolia. The deratization impacts on Altai-Sayan populations of steppe eagle (Aquila nipalensis), griffon (Aegypiys monachus) and demoiselle crane (Grus virgo) are considered in the article.

Key words: deratization, rodenticides, bromadiolone, Brandt’s vole, Microtus brandtii, birds of prey, steppe eagle, Aquila nipalensis, griffon, Aegypiys monachus, demoiselle crane, Grus virgo, Mongolia, Altai-Sayan region.

Integrated pest management of rodents: problems and decisions. Report 1. Population dynamics as the ground for rodents pest management

Rylnikov V.A. Doctor of Biology, Director of Non-Governmental Educational Institution «Pest management institution», Moscow, rylnikov@list.ru

Geographical and ecological differences of such population characteristics as birth rate and mortality determined population producing capacity and inter alia its tolerance to injurious people actions are shown by example of Norway rat.

Key words: birth rate, mortality, producing capacity, population dynamics, population tolerance, population management.

Individual protection against venomous snakes. Report 3.

D.V.Semenov, Cand. Sc. (Biol.), advanced scientific researcher, A.N. Severtsov Institution of ecology and evolution, RAS

The main differences between venomous and innocuous snakes, precautions and the first aid after venomous snake bite are given in the article.

FORMULATIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES

Electrofumigants and fumigants for extermination of flying insects indoors and out-of-doors: analysis of preparative forms assortment, target objects, active agents, producers for the period 2003-2009 years

Bakanova E.I. Cand. Sc. (Biol.), advanced scientific researcher FSI Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute by Russian Consumer Inspection, Moscow, Russia

In this review it’s presented the analysis of annual registration numbers, assortment (preparative forms, target objects), active agents and producers of the insecticide electrofumigants and fumigants for the period 2003-2009 years that has been made using the materials received from the Public Register of disinfection, disinsection and deratisation means.

Target efficiency of new insecticide «Insectogel» on the basis of binary mixture ChSI diflubenzuron with boric acid

Khrustaleva N.A. Cand. Sc. (Biol.), advanced scientific researcher FSI Scientific Research Disinfectology Institute by Russian Consumer Inspection, Moscow, Russia

This insecticide has been developed by Nongovernment Private Scientific –Educational Institution «Pest management Institution» (Moscow) and it is produced by close corporation «NKF«RAT» (RF, Moscow). This insecticide has got intestinalcontact effect. Furthermore some insects, attracted by the bite, stick in viscous gel substance when feeding and then die. Combination of insecticide, having got long-term residual effect – boric acid – with chitin synthesis inhibiting agent, having got delayed effect from the moment of application, has resulted in creation of insecticide gel with high cumulative effect for 3 months. Application of this insecticide in household use and medical disinsection for extermination of synanthropic cockroaches and different ants species is grounded.

Key words: desinsection, insecticide gel, boric acid, chitin synthesis inhibitor, diflubenzuron, synanthropic cockroaches, ants.

Study of anticoagulant rodenticides biological efficiency under different murine rodents numbers

Yakovlev A.A., Cand. Sc. (Biol.), advanced scientific researcher; jiakovlev@mail.ru,

Babich N.V., Cand. Sc. (Biol.), senior scientific researcher, natbabich@gmail.com;

Dragomirov K.A., All-Russia Institute of Plant Protection, zoologist, FSI Center of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Krasnodar region, Krasnodar , dragomirov@mail.ru

According to analisis of the rodenticides (made on the basis bromadiolon, brodifacum, ethylfenacin and trifenacin) tests, applied in winter grain crops and permanent grasses in Krasnodar region in 2005- 2008, their efficiency was about 70-80% under rodents density – 300 alive borrows per ha. During the mass breeding period under rodents density over 1000 alive borrows per ha the efficiency of those rodenticides decreased to 40% and lower. Under keeping the regulations of rodenticide application, the rodenticides on the basis of bromadiolon have got the minimal toxic load (consumption – 2 kg/ha at most).

Key words: anticoagulative rodenticide, murine rodents, common vole, Microtus arvalis Pall.,crops, tests, efficiency, toxic load.
